Autism is an extremely prevalent disability worldwide. We at PEAT are committed to helping individuals with autism reach their full potential.
PEAT is a local NI charity. We must raise funds to keep the services of the charity in operation and to support as many people with autism as we can.
You can help us to help individuals with autism and give them the life skills they need. Your donation can help us sustain existing services and support as many children and young people with autism as we possibly can province-wide.
Your support regardless of the amount, will enable PEATÂ to enhance family services and support programmes for individuals with autism.
Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly and on a tax free basis to the charities and good causes of their choice.
Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p, and if you're a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p.
Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn or workplace giving) is a valuable, long term source of revenue, providing regular income to help charities budget and plan ahead more effectively.
Employees can choose to support any charity of their choice with a regular donation direct from their pay.
Its cheaper because its tax free - for example, a donation of £5 per month costs the basic rate tax payer £4.00 (the taxman pays the rest!)
Check with your employer/personal pension provider to see if there is a payroll giving scheme in place and then you simply authorise them to make the donation from your wages or pension before deducting any tax.
Making a donation to PEAT in lieu of gifts is a unique way of marking a special occasion, whether you are getting married, celebrating an anniversary or organising a birthday party. This is done by asking your friends and family to donate to charity in lieu of gifts. Or offer wedding favours with impact. In lieu of traditional wedding favours give a donation in honour of your wedding guests.
A donation in memory of a family member, friend or colleague who has passed away is a kind and thoughtful way to let others know you care.
PEAT collection boxes can be left in local businesses. Branded collection boxes are available from PEAT. Responsibility for collection box pick-ups would be of the person who has taken it.
The most common form of planned gift is a bequest. Simply list PEAT as a beneficiary in your will for a fixed amount.
Considering a legacy in your will is one of the most powerful things you can do to help support PEAT in the future.
A legacy left to the charity will enable us to continue the vital support we provide for children and young people with autism and their families that would otherwise have no access to intervention.
As PEAT receives no government funding, a legacy would be a valuable source of income for the charity.
If you are considering a bequest to our charity please contact us for further information and guidance.Â
Please remember to Gift Aid your donation. Make your gift to PEAT worth more – at no extra cost to you.
If you are a UK tax payer, you can make every £1 you give – or have given – worth 25p more, just by telling us. This is because the government’s Gift Aid scheme allows PEAT to reclaim tax on donations. This means that you can make an even bigger difference at no extra cost to you!
Find out more about Gift Aid
For your donations to be eligible for Gift Aid you must pay an amount of income tax and/ or capital gains tax for each tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) that is at least equal to the tax that all charities and CASCs reclaim on your donations in the same tax year.
If you pay higher rate tax you can claim further tax relief in your Self-Assessment tax return.
